Terms and Conditions
  1. Open to UK and EIRE residents aged 18 or over, excluding employees of LG Electronics UK Ltd, their associated companies, their agents, third parties or anyone else professionally connected with the administration of this promotion and their immediate families.
  2. NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY to enter the promotion.
  3. To enter the competition, submit a photo of yourself and complete the entry form available on www.LGstyleicon.com, alternatively visit a member of staff at the LG Roadshow stand at the venues and dates as specified on the ‘Roadshow Dates’ link at the above microsite.
  4. All photographs will be moderated by the promoter. The promoter reserves the right to reject or remove any photograph that they see as unfit without notifying the entrant.
  5. Only one entry per person. Third party entries will not be accepted, unless approved by a member of LG Roadshow stand staff (for entries made via the roadshow stands only).
  6. Closing date for the receipt of entries by the Promoter is 1st September 2008. The Promoter will not be responsible for transmission, network and/or computer software error affecting the logging of entries to the promotion.
  7. Responsibility cannot be accepted for entries invalidated by technical problems beyond the control of the promoter or problems with accessing the promotion site.
  8. All normal internet charges associated with the submission of an entry to the promotion shall be the entrant’s responsibility.
  9. There are 2 winners; each will feature in a national LG advertising campaign. The winners will be judged by an expert panel. 10 finalists, one from each region, will receive a trip to London. The trip includes one nights accommodation at a 5* hotel, a travel allowance of £250 to and from London, a professional makeover and photoshoot, dinner at a 5* restaurant. The photoshoot of each finalist will be used to create an LG billboard advert which will be shown in their region. Travel insurance, subject to insurance provider’s acceptance and terms and conditions, is also included. Details of Insurance provider and cover available on request. Any further expenses incurred by the winners in the enjoyment of the prize are the responsibility of the winners. Any further prize details will be confirmed when the winners are contacted. If applicable the winner must have documents valid for travel for the departure and return dates.
  10. One finalist will be selected from each of the 10 regions from the top 5 entrants voted by the public in each region. In the event of insufficient or low voting volumes the top 5 entrants from each region will be randomly selected out of all of the entrants and put forward to the judging panel. If there is a tie break after voting, then the top 5 from each region will be randomly selected from entrants with equal number of votes.
  11. The finalists must be available for the final in London during September 2008. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any inability of the winners to take up any of the specified prizes on the specified dates. The 10 finalists will be selected by an authorised panel on a date within one month of the competition close date and its decision will be final and binding in all matters. Correspondence will not be entered into. Winners will be notified during their trip to London. Two reserve winners will also be selected drawn at the same time. If the prizes are not claimed within 48 hours of notification, the prizes will be withdrawn and awarded to a reserve winner who will be notified by telephone and if they can not claim the prize or cannot be contacted within 48 hours, the next reserve winner will be notified and so on until it is claimed.
  12. If a finalist cannot be contacted after 48 hours the promoter has the right to select another finalist.
  13. The 2 winners, one female and one male will be selected from the 10 finalists by the expert panel during the London trip, must be available to take part in the future campaign for LG.
  14. No responsibility can be accepted for entries or notifications of prize winning lost or delayed in transit. Damaged, incorrectly completed or illegible entries will be invalid.
  15. By taking part in the promotion all participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these rules.
  16. The prize is non-transferable and non-refundable. There is no cash alternative. The Promoter reserves the right to offer an alternative prize of at least equal value if circumstances make this necessary.
  17. To obtain the name and county of the winners please send a stamped SAE to LG Promotion, Billington Cartmell, The Blue Building, Fulham Island, 40 Vanston Place, London. SW6 1AX 2 weeks after the end of the promotion.
  18. By entering the promotion and submitting their photo, the entrants consent to the promoter’s use of their photo on the microsite for the purpose of the public voting and administration of the promotion.
  19. By entering the promotion and submitting their photo all entrants warrant that they are fully entitled to participate in this promotion and the final winner’s campaign free from any third party contractual or other such restrictions and each entrant agrees to a full assignment of any copyright, design rights, trademarks and/or any other intellectual property rights in the photo and the subsequent winner’s photoshoot (if applicable) to the Promoter, with the entrant indemnifying the Promoter for any claims and/or damages suffered by the Promoter as a result of any alleged or actual infringement of third party intellectual property rights claims and/or any breach of these Terms and Conditions by the entrant.
  20. All entrants are responsible for ensuring that the photo they submit is a photo of themselves and not a photo of any other third party/ individual and the Promoter reserves the right to request proof of identification where necessary and/or to reject any photos which are found to be non-compliant.
  21. The winners agree to the Promoter using their name in connection with the promotion and may be asked to take part in publicity and promotional activities.
  22. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for cancellation, curtailment or alteration of the event or transport to and from the event for reasons beyond its control.
  23. Other than liability for death or personal injury arising from negligence of the Promoter, so far as is permitted by law, the Promoter excludes all liability under these Terms & Conditions, in contract or tort (including negligence) for any loss, damage, costs and/or expenses, loss of profits, goodwill, consequential, indirect or special losses, howsoever caused in connection with the Promotion.
  24. Save as otherwise set out in these Terms and Conditions and otherwise consented to by entrants, all personal details obtained from participants will be held by LG Electronics UK Ltd for the purposes of administering this promotion only and will be destroyed thereafter.
  25. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel or suspend this promotion at any stage, if deemed necessary in their opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of their control.
  26. Entrants must comply with these rules, and will be deemed to have received and understood the rules if they participate in the promotion.
  27. The Promoter would like to keep entrants informed of the Promoter’s special offers and events for similar products and services by telephone, text message and/or email. If you do not want to receive this information please tick the relevant options at the bottom of the registration form on the website.
  28. The Promoter will not pass your details to third parties for marketing purposes, but may from time to time make those available to its business associates or to carefully selected companies whose products we believe may be of interest to you. However, if you specifically do not want your details passed to third parties please tick the relevant options at the bottom of the registration form on the website.
  29. These Terms & Conditions shall be interpreted and construed under the governing law of England & Wales and any disputes under these Terms & Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
